Matt Fitzpatrick on no LIV Golf players in the Playoffs: "Not a massive loss"
Fitzpatrick not fussed about the LIV Golf absentees in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Matt Fitzpatrick believes "it's not a massive loss" that none of the LIV Golf Tour players are in this week's 70-man BMW Championship.
Fitzpatrick was speaking to the media ahead of the second FedEx Cup Playoffs event in Wilmington as he looks on from 12th place in the season-long FedEx Cup standings.
A federal judge last week denied three LIV Golf players Talor Gooch, Hudson Swafford and Matt Jones a 'temporary restraining order' to compete in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
"Yeah, it's still an incredibly fantastic field," said Fitzpatrick when pressed on all the LIV Golf absentees from the Playoffs.
"The field this week is 70 of the best players in the world.
"Yeah, I think only three of them that aren't here, it's not a massive loss in my opinion."
The winner of the FedEx Cup will walk away with a huge $18 million first prize.
Jon Rahm spoke earlier today about how he is not a fan of the staggered scoring system at next week's season finale at the Tour Championship.
Fitzpatrick, who won his maiden major at the US Open earlier this summer, was then asked how he goes about blocking out LIV Golf talk while on the PGA Tour.
"I'll be honest, I haven't been asked much about it myself personally," said Fitzpatrick.
"It's been fine. I've just seen it in the media and stuff. You just get fed up with talking about it.
"My personal opinion, it's like, right, let's just get on with it now.
"Just want to play golf and concentrate on what you're doing. Yeah, that's purely my take on that."
Will Zalatoris vaulted to the top of the FedEx Cup standings after landing his maiden title at the FedEx St Jude Championship last week.
