Golfer punches playing partner in the face after golf etiquette dispute
Man arrested on a charge of battery following golf course punch up over etiquette.
A man from Florida has been arrested on a charge of battery following an argument with his friend about etiquette on the golf course, according to Sumter County deputies.
Richard Randell, 77, has entered a not guilty plea for his alleged crime against his 84-year-old playing partner, as confirmed by court documents that were filed last month.
The incident happened on April 29 at De La Vista Golf Course on San Marino Drive in Florida.
According to the third member of the group, a man told deputies how the altercation happened at the time they reached the 4th hole. Randell and the friend were arguing, which is apparently something they did quite often on the course.
The man then told deputies how the friend told Randell to move out of his way on the green, but Randell replied saying that he knew the etiquette of the game.

The argument continued, according to the report, and then the friend reportedly flipped off Randell.
That did not sit well with Randell, who then approached his friend and he reportedly said: 'Do that again, and I will hit you."
The friend once again flipped off Randell, who then took matters into his own hands and punched the man in the face. The man then fell to the ground and was taken to a local hospital.
A visible bruise was said to have been noted on the side of his face.
Randell was arrested on a charge of battery on a person 65 years or older.
