TaylorMade Golf unveils all-new P·790 Irons: The next evolution in players distance

TaylorMade Golf continues to set the benchmark in iron innovation with the launch of its all all-new P·790 Irons. 

Pioneering the Players Distance category, this latest generation delivers increased carry distance, a premium forged feel, and a larger sweet spot—ensuring greater consistency and enhanced performance.

Advanced Face Technology for Superior Speed & Consistency

The all-new P·790 Irons introduce 4340M forged face material, which is 20% stronger than previous versions. 

This advancement allows for a thinner, more responsive face, leading to a higher coefficient of restitution (COR), faster ball speeds, and longer carry distances. 

The refined material also expands the sweet spot by up to 24% compared to its predecessor, ensuring consistent performance across the set.

TaylorMade's advanced T-modal analysis has been employed to optimize feel and sound, fine-tuning frequencies for superior feedback at impact.

Bovee said: "Our goal with the new P·790 irons was to enhance sound and feel while preserving the elite performance that defines the line. Through precise head optimization and internal structural enhancements, we've achieved a superior level of feedback and response."

Precision-Engineered Stability & Optimized Mass Distribution

This latest generation of P·790 irons is among TaylorMade’s most stable ever. Strategic redistribution of up to 40g of tungsten, combined with FLTD CG™ technology, optimizes the center of gravity (CG) placement for better launch and control:

• Long irons: Lower CG for effortless launch and enhanced playability.
• Mid irons (7-iron): Progressive tungsten weighting improves stability and forgiveness.
• Short irons (8-PW): Higher CG placement promotes greater control and shot precision.

The innovative Thick-Thin Back Wall Construction incorporates honeycombed cutouts, strategically removing excess weight above the strike zone to optimize mass distribution and performance in each club.

The all-new P·790 irons are available for pre-order starting February 18 and will be in retail stores beginning March 13.
