Nick Dunlap WITB 2024: The American Express
Check out the golf clubs in the bag of Nick Dunlap as the 20-year-old amateur makes PGA Tour history at The American Express.
Nick Dunlap made history Sunday winning The American Express to become the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event in 33 years.
Dunlap’s record-setting weekend featured his brand new TaylorMade Qi10 LS in 9 degrees.
He also relied heavily on his TaylorMade P·7MC irons and TaylorMade MG 4 wedges.
The 20-year-old Alabama sophomore shot a record-breaking 60 on Saturday to take a three-stroke lead into the final round.
Dunlap's third round matched the lowest round by an amateur since at least 1983.

After going out in even par to start the final round, Dunlap’s drive on the 14th hole went 271 yards into the fairway and then he hit his approach from 129-yards to 10-feet to make birdie.
Then, after a 331-yard drive on 16 with his Qi10 LS driver, Dunlap came up clutch going up and down from below the green with his Milled Grind 4 wedge and made the 11-foot putt.
Dunlap showed his poise on the 17th hole, securely finding the green on the Par 3 island green with his P·7MC and then two-putting for par to take a two-stroke lead.
On 18, he had yet another clutch up and down to secure the victory by one-stroke.
Dunlap finished the final round second in driving distance with an average of 331 yards.
In testing with TaylorMade’s tour team, Dunlap preferred the head shape of the LS head.
To get the ball to consistently go right, Dunlap’s Qi10 LS is set to the standard upright position with the sliding weight set all the way to the fade position.
Rory McIlroy had also been using the TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver but he switched into the standard Qi10 model en route to successfully defending the Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday.
McIlroy also became the first player to win the tournament four times.
