Callaway has hit the ground running in 2025 with the release of the new Elyte family in January.
The Elyte driver range is named after Callaway's founder, Ely Callaway, and is designed to improve ball speeds across the face and enhance your swing speed through improved aerodynamics (plus a lot more).
The ever-popular Triple Diamond model continues in 2025, with a 450CC head suiting the better player. Let’s dive in and see how this driver performs.
Player Level
Let’s be clear, the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond will not be in the most forgiving drivers of 2025.
This isn’t a criticism.
The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond is meant for the better player, which you can see from the 450cc head. High handicap golfers, stay away!
Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Looks and feel
Callaway has returned to their green colour pallet for 2025, which we’ve seen consistently throughout the years with Callaway Epic. For 2025, I feel that the Elyte line up is a bit marmite.
We’ve certainly seen this on social media too.
The Elyte's overall aesthetic isn’t quite my cup of tea. It almost feels like they’ve overthought how to make it look perfect and made some small errors along the way, that some golf purists like myself won't be too fond of.
When compared to both the Elyte and Elyte X, though, the Triple Dimond certainly takes top spot for looks alone.
Callaway has opted for a gloss crown for the Triple Diamond, which really suits the 450cc head. From my eye alone, the gloss crown does almost make the head look slightly smaller, however this could be an optical illusion.
The Elyte and Elyte X heads are certainly larger down at address, notably more elongated.
Now, this driver feels fast.
As odd as it is to say, I could almost feel the enhanced aerodynamics in the transition of my swing, and it felt faster than the previous 2024 range.
Off the face, I noticed it feeling slightly more dead than the other models in the Elyte line-up, although this could be down to the performance and forgiveness of this particular model.
Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Performance and Forgiveness
I was fortunate enough to test the Callaway Elyte driver in a variety of locations, from sunny Spain in November to the Foresight Headquarters in December. Our data testing was conducted with a Foresight GC3 and TaylorMade TP5x balls.
Now, It’s worth mentioning that personally I’m not a fan of low spin drivers that are too fade bias.
My out to in swing path causes me problems at the best of times, so having a face that doesn’t work with my swing has led to some shocking scores.
I’ve really struggled with the Triple Diamond in the past as I feel like it sits far too open for my eye, and being able to see the face down at address adds to this problem.
I mainly tested the Triple Diamond model indoors and did play around with the hosel tech, whilst keeping the heavy weight on the head at the front.
I was surprised by my results, in that I was able to hit a lovely draw after some work with the head.
This leads me to believe the Triple Diamond may not be as fade bias as previous iterations.
I didn’t find it to be the lowest spinning model on the market in 2025, but I did find it to be the fastest overall.
I wouldn’t put it in play, as I believe the Elyte core model is so solid this year that any fast or slow swing speed player should game it for the added forgiveness.
However, for speed alone, this really impressed me.
Should you buy the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Driver?
The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond has firmly placed itself at the top of the pecking order for low-spin drivers in 2025 due to its classy aesthetics, confidence inspiring look at address and impressive numbers.
Sure, this won’t be Callaway’s best selling model. But for what it’s advertised for, I have seen a big improvement compared to last year.
