Tiger Woods reveals his new TW Phase 1 irons with TaylorMade
Tiger Woods reveals his new set of clubs ahead of the Wells Fargo on the PGA Tour.
Tiger Woods has taken to his official social media channels to reveal his new 'TW Phase 1' irons with TaylorMade.
Woods returns to the PGA Tour this week at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow, marking his first event back on the circuit since finishing tied 32nd at The Masters last month.
The 14-time major champion had previously been using TGR Prototype irons (3-PW) with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts.
Every set I have ever put into play is slightly different than the previous. It’s a meticulous process and this is the first phase of that process with TaylorMade. Getting the shape just right, the sole, the topline, grooves, grinds…everything.
So far so good, and I am looking forward to continuing that process with the team.

Looking at some of the early comments on Twitter, however, and a number of users aren't quite buying it...

Woods also uses a TaylorMade M3 driver (9.5-degrees; Mitsubishi Tensei Pro Orange 70TX) and 3-wood (15-degrees; Mitsubishi Tensei Pro Orange 90TX), as well as a TaylorMade Tour Preferred UDI (18-degrees; Project X PXi 7.0).
He has chosen to stick by his old Nike VR Pro Forged wedges (56 and 60-degrees; True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400) and Scotty Cameron Newport 2 SS putter, and he uses Bridgestone's latest Tour B XS ball.
Woods has enjoyed a mini resurgence since returning to the PGA Tour this season, rising from 668th in the world at the end of 2017 to a current 88th.
The former world number one finished tied 23rd at the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January and missed the cut at the Genesis Open in his next event, but then strung together a series of impressive finishes of 12th, second and fifth in three consecutive events, before finishing outside the top 30 at Augusta National.
Woods starts at odds of 25/1 to win this week's Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow, in what would be his first victory since 2013.
