KBS announces its first graphite putter shaft

KBS has launched their first graphite putter shaft, the KBS GPS, the company announced in a press release on Monday.

The new putter shaft weighs 120 grams, can be as long as 38 inches, and comes in eight different possible colours.

It's the sixth graphite shaft KBS has produced. The company has previously launched the TD Driver/Wood, the Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype, the Player Graphite Iron (PGI), the Tour Graphite Iron (TGI), and the Max Graphite iron shaft.

"Designed as a low torque performance shaft, which results in minimizing deflection bend commonly found in traditional steel putter shafts on longer putts, along with better distance control and ensuring the ball starts on its desired line, the KBS GPS also incorporates a premium crafted composite materials and fibres to ensure stability, durability, and accuracy that produces the superior feels only felt in KBS Golf Shafts," said the release.

Kim Braly, the company's Director of R&D, said they've been working on the new graphite putter shaft for some time.

"The GPS is stiff without adding increased weight as Graphite putter shafts can help the face from turning when a putt is struck toward the heel or toe. That will increase any putter's moment of inertia making putting more controlled on miss hits."

KBS offer 18 different shafts in total and the company's products are used by more than 300 Tour players across the globe, according to the release. The new graphite putter shaft will become available in early April.
