Defending champion underway

Jon Rahm has teed off.

The defending champion is playing alongside Matthew Fitzpatrick and Nick Dunlap.

It's a solid start for Rahm, who taps in for par at the first.

Not long now until Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler get underway

World number one and overwhelming favourite Scottie Scheffler will get his Masters underway shortly.

Playing alongside Scheffler is Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele.

The group will tee off at 18:12 BST.

Magic from Willett

The 2016 Masters champion just holed an absolutely outrageous putt for birdie from off the green on the 7th hole.

The ball came agonisingly close to dropping in a bunker before sliding onto the green and into the hole.

What a putt!

17:39
Bright and bold from Garcia

You certainly won't miss Sergio Garcia out on the course today.

An early contender for outfit of the day.

Ryan Fox hot on DeChambeau's heels

New Zealand's Ryan Fox has followed in Bryson DeChambeau's footsteps, birdieing the first two holes to sit one back from the leader.

It certainly seems like the rain has softened up the course.

We could be looking at some low scores today.

Three from three!

Bryson DeChambeau is on fire.

He's now birdied all three of the opening holes to sit atop the leaderboard at three under.

Maybe Augusta National really is a par 67 for the LIV Golf star.

Bryson off to a hot start

Bryson DeChambeau has got off to a blistering start.

The long-hitting American sits atop the leaderboard, having birdied the first two holes.

He's also got a good look to make it three in a row on the third hole.

16:15
Birdie time

2016 Masters champion Danny Willett registers the first birdie of the tournament to take a very early lead at one under.

A lovely approach shot was followed up by a delicious first putt for the Englishman.

15:57
A pair of pars

Jake Knapp and Erik van Rooyen walk off the first green with a pair of pars.

After hitting his second shot over the back of the green, Knapp made a solid up-and-down to keep himself at level par.

Next up, Jose Maria Olazabal, Taylor Moore and amateur Santiago de la Fuente.

15:38
Opening tee shot

South African Erik van Rooyen gets the 2024 Masters underway with a tee shot that finds the right rough.

His playing partner today is Masters rookie and recent PGA Tour winner Jake Knapp.

Knapp launched his drive straight down the middle. If he had any nerves on the tee, you would never know

Honorary starters

And away we go! Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson have all teed off on the 1st to begin the 88th edition of The Masters.

Some good-looking drives from three of the best to ever grace the game.

Tiger will have to return Friday AM to complete first round

The 2 hr 30 min weather delay is not the best news for ardent Tiger Woods fans as the 15-time major champion will have to return on Friday AM to complete his first round.

The five-time Masters champion tees off at 3.54pm local time, meaning he will not get his first round in before darkness on Thursday.

It will get dark at Augusta by around 7.30pm.

Woods is looking to set the outright record for most consecutive cuts made at The Masters with 24.

He currently shares the record (23) with Fred Couples and Gary Player.
