Genesis Scottish Open 2022 LIVE: Scores, leaderboard, updates from Round Two

Despite carding a superb 66, Matt Fitzpatrick will be wondering what could've been with two bogeys on his last two holes.

On the 8th and the 9th, the US Open champion failed to get up and down from around the green, but he still carded a score of 4-under-par.

He is now just six shots behind Cameron Tringale with the American yet to begin his second round at The Renaissance Club.

Xander Schauffele has carded a superb 65 in the second round of the Genesis Scottish Open!

Schauffele made five birdies and an eagle to fire himself up to 3-under-par for the event and in the mix at The Renaissance Club for the weekend.

The 28-year-old chipped in for a closing birdie on the 9th hole to post his score of 5-under-par.

It has not been the week Ian Poulter wanted when he was reinstated into the field for the Genesis Scottish Open.

A 72 on Friday adds to his round of 78 on Thursday to make a score of 10-over-par which will be way off the cut mark in East Lothian.

He, Branden Grace, Adrian Otaegui and Justin Harding all had their appeals to the DP World Tour stayed after competing in the LIV Golf Invitational Series...

Jordan Smith has won a car for himself and his caddie with a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at The Renaissance Club!

The Englishman hit the perfect shot on the 186-yard hole and it helped him move up the leaderboard to tied seventh.

Smith, who has already qualified for The 150th Open Championship, carded a 69 to reach 3-under-par for the week.

Rickie Fowler is sitting at 2-under par for the tournament and he's been steely in his determination today. 

He's made three bogeys and every time he has done so he's bounced straight back with a birdie. 

Fowler, who has been widely-assumed to be going to LIV Golf, has two holes left to play. 

Fitzpatrick has been sensational today. He's not made a bogey, and has the best round on the golf course going at present. 

He's 6-under for the day and now only one stroke behind American Gary Woodland, who will tee off alongside leader Cameron Tringale at 2.15pm BST. 

Collin Morikawa moves back to 5-over par with a birdie at No.6. 

That's two in a row now for the American. He's got three holes left and likely will need - at the very least - two birdies to have a shout at making the cut. 

Still, he's just cracked a smile for probably the first time today. 

As I type this, Zalatoris rolls in his bogey putt. 

This is not what Will Zalatoris wanted at No. 6.

He's missed the green at the par-3 and now he's chunked his chip straight into the bunker...

He's got some work to do to tidy up his bogey, which would put him at 2-over par for the tournament. 

The defending champion of the Scottish Open is Min Woo Lee.

And boy, he's had a rough time of it. 

He shot a 77 yesterday, which included 8 bogeys. 

Today, it's been more of the same. 

He's had three bogeys and one double bogey, which came at No. 16. 

He's had two birdies, at 13 and 17, to stop some of the bleeding. 

But he's 10-over par for the tournament and is currently nine strokes off the projected cut. 

And he's only got nine holes left. 

Yikes.

Although he had a laugh last night with Max Homa.

Friday has been a horror show for Justin Thomas!

In consecutive holes around the turn, the American makes bogey, bogey and double-bogey to fall back to 7-over-par for the week.

He has made four bogeys through 11 holes of his second round and he is set to miss the cut a week before The 150th Open Championship...

Collin Morikawa isn't enjoying himself at The Renaissance Club on Friday as he is set to miss the cut.

The reigning Open champion is 4-over-par for his round after 11 holes and he is 5-over-par for the week at the Genesis Scottish Open.

With the projected cut at 1-over-par, the American could be making an early trip to St. Andrews.

Matt Fitzpatrick is on fire in round two of the Genesis Scottish Open!

Having already made four birdies on Friday at The Renaissance Club, the Englishman has rolled in another birdie putt of over 50 feet on hole 2!

He hit his second shot to the front of the green from the heavy rough too, which makes his birdie all the more impressive.

He moves to 4-under-par for the week and he is now just five back from Cameron Tringale...

Justin Thomas could use all of the luck he can get at The Renaissance Club on Friday!

On the par-4 1st hole, his 10th hole of the day, his approach shot from the fescue looked to be headed for the lefthand greenside bunker.

Instead, it rolled around the trap to the back fringe. The US PGA champion will be wondering how he has managed that.

He is currently 5-over for the tournament and on course to miss the cut in East Lothian...

Three places for The 150th Open Championship next week are up for grabs at the Genesis Scottish Open this week.

The top three players in the top 10 who haven't already qualified will earn their spot in the landmark tournament at St Andrews.

Cameron Tringale, Gary Woodland and Justin Harding occupy the top three places on the leaderboard, but they have already qualified for 2022's final major.

2015 Scottish Open champion Rickie Fowler is out on the course on day two at The Renaissance Club.

After a score of 1-under-par on Thursday, the World No.150 is also 1-under through 10 holes of his second round.

Fowler's form has very much dropped off a cliff in recent years and he will need a top finish this week to qualify for The 150th Open Championship at St Andrews.

Perhaps the Norwegian has LIV Golf something else on his mind?!

If it was all about making the cut for Hideki Matsuyama after making two double bogeys to begin his second round then he is going the right way about it. 

The Masters champion has continued his fightback with a birdie at 16.

That was off the back of birdies at 13 and 15 and a couple of pars.

He's back to level par for the day now, and 3-over par for the tournament. 

As I type this, Matthew Fitzpatrick has just passed his first test of the day with a nervy par putt at 16 to remain at 3-under.

And Justin Thomas has also picked up two shots over the last few holes, moving back to 3-over par for the tournament. 

The marquee groups will get underway just after 1pm BST. 

Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland will tee off at 13.15pm. 

Jordan Spieth, Cameron Smith and Tyrrell Hatton tee off 10 minutes later.
