Keegan Bradley secured the winning point at the Presidents Cup and then confirmed he intends to take a leaf out of Jim Furyk's playbook when he gets his own shot at captaincy at next year's Ryder Cup.
Bradley, 38, had initially been selected as one of Furyk's assistant captains for the Presidents Cup this year.
But Furyk, 54, was forced into a reshuffle when Bradley captured the BMW Championship last month.
As a result of that win, Bradley earned one of Furyk's six captain picks on the team.
He then duly paid him back by securing the winning point for the stars and stripes.

Bradley, who took two points from a possible three, sealed a narrow 1up victory over Si Woo Kim on the 18th.
Furyk's Team USA ran out commanding 18.5-11.5 winners over Mike Weir's Internationals.
It marked the 10th consecutive time that USA have won the Presidents Cup, and the 13th time overall in 15 contests.
Bradley's winning point for Team USA was made even sweeter given he handed the winning point to Europe the last time he competed in a team event at the 2014 Ryder Cup.
"That was incredible," said an emotional Bradley, who contemplated this could be his final-ever appearance as a player on Team USA.
"I kept saying all week I didn't know if I would get to do this again and play in this tournament but to get the winning point, my goodness.
"The last time I played [for Team USA], I was the point to lose the Ryder Cup, so if this was my last round as a player, maybe it is, I'm good with that."
Bradley credited the rest of the United States team, many of whom he hopes will retain their places for the 2025 Ryder Cup.
The PGA of America named Bradley a shock captain of the 2025 US Ryder Cup team earlier this summer.
That was after Tiger Woods turned down the opportunity to become Ryder Cup captain for the first time in his career.
Bradley has openly admitted he will not pick himself to play in the 2025 US Ryder Cup team.
The only way he will compete is if he makes it into the side as one of the six automatics.
Keegan Bradley opens up on Ryder Cup plans
After securing the winning point at the 2024 Presidents Cup, Bradley told Golf Channel's Cara Banks that he intends to very much emulate Furyk's style of captaincy and culture when he battles Luke Donald's Team Europe at Bethpage Black next September.
"The guys are incredible," continued Bradley.
"They really love each other, the wives and caddies all love each other, and it's just an amazing atmopshere.
"I am so proud of the team.
"We are going to copy a lot of what Jim Furyk did this week.
"He's set a culture for us and we are going to carry that over into Bethpage. I hope a lot of these 12 guys are on the [Ryder Cup] team."
Bradley will also get the chance to pick the likes of LIV Golf duo Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka should he so wish.
That is because the PGA of America has confirmed all American LIV players will be eligible to compete on the team.
LIV Golf players are not currently eligible to compete in the Presidents Cup since the event is run by the PGA Tour.
