Hideki Matsuyama will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the PGA Tour's first event of the 2025 season at The Sentry at famed Kapalua in Hawaii.

Matsuyama leads by a solitary stroke over two-time major champion Collin Morikawa.

Both players continued their impressive play with sensational flawless rounds of 11-under 62

Matsuyama now finds himself at 27-under par, one shot ahead of Morikawa on 26-under par.

The duo have surged away from the chasing pack.

Matsuyama made 11 birdies while Morikawa made nine birdies and an eagle on the par-5 5th.

Belgium's Thomas Detry bumped himself up into solo third on 22-under par courtesy of a solid 65.

South Korea's Sungjae Im (21-under par) and England's Harry Hall (20-under par) make up the top five.

Im matched Matsuyama and Morikawa's feat of 62 and Hall posted a 66.

Matsuyama is seeking an 11th PGA Tour title and his first since the 2024 FedEx St Jude Championship in August.

Morikawa is going in search of his seventh PGA Tour title and his first since the ZOZO Championship in October 2023.

World No.3 Morikawa, who has family ties to Hawaii, has something of a shot at redemption on Sunday having thrown away a seven-shot lead to Jon Rahm in the final round of the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Matsuyama (27-under par) has now broken the 54-hole tournament record.

Cameron Smith holds the tournament record score of 34-under par (2022).

Conditions are expected to be slightly tougher during Sunday's final round so it remains to be seen whether Matsuyama or Morikawa can capture the tournament record at Kapalua.
