Golf fans react as John Daly smashes ball over highway to ring in New Year

Golf fans have been reacting on social media after watching John Daly rip a tee shot over a highway to ring in the New Year.

Daly, 58, was seen teeing up a golf ball with a cigarette in his mouth.

He was then told by several people around him to wait for traffic to clear before unleashing a drive.

'John Daly ringing in the New Year in typical John Daly fashion', read the video's caption. 

It's unknown as to exactly where the ball ended up but as Daly swings away, a man shouts out 'Oh s***'.... come on, let's go!'

Daly is then seen high-fiving a group of people as he walks away from the road.

Daly finished T8 alongside his son John Daly II at the 2024 PNC Championship last month. 

Tiger Woods and his son Charlie Woods lost out in a playoff that week to Bernhard Langer and his son Jason. 

Daly won five times in his PGA Tour career, highlighted by two major victories at the 1991 US PGA and 1995 Open.
