LIV Golf commentator tears (!) into Eugenio Chacarra: "Place blame looking in the mirror"
LIV Golf commentator Jerry Foltz has torn into Eugenio Chacarra following his explosive comments about life on the breakaway tour.
LIV Golf commentator Jerry Foltz has questioned Eugenio Chacarra's motivations for 'trashing' the breakaway tour.
Chacarra was deemed surplus to requirements by Sergio Garcia's Fireballs at the end of the 2024 campaign.
The 24-year-old Spaniard made global headlines last week when he tore into the PIF-backed league.
His primary complaint was the fact that Greg Norman never delivered on his promise to secure world ranking points for LIV players.
He was also upset because he was told that he would never be sanctioned by the PGA Tour for competing in LIV events.
Chacarra is now subject to a one-year suspension on the PGA Tour even though he has never held any status on the North American circuit.
The rule was introduced in January 2023.
Chacarra made it clear that LIV delivered nothing for him other than money and now he is dreaming of playing on the PGA Tour, competing in the Ryder Cup and winning major titles.
He also compared himself to Ludvig Aberg, explaining that despite their 'similar' career accomplishments it is the young Swede that receives all the plaudits.
Foltz was upset by Chacarra's comments and tore into the golfer on the most recent episode of the Fairway to Heaven podcast.
"I'll try to temper it [my reaction] as best I can because those comments rubbed me and everybody else associated with LIV the wrong way," he said.
"There's a lot of it that simply isn't true but be that as it may he didn't finish in the top 24 in the lock zone.
"There's a reason why we didn't talk about him very much [and] it's because he didn't play very well over the last two years.
"Secondly, he was still within the open zone but none of the [other] teams wanted him.
"I think, instead of placing blame on on the league, place blame looking in the mirror.
"There's a reason why they [the Fireballs] didn't want him and that's because of the character he has displayed over two-and-a-half seasons with LIV.
"That basically says it all in a nutshell."
Foltz brought up this X post:
There’s a #LIVGolf-er that won’t be back for 2025 that the @PGATOUR is willing to bribe with exemptions & guaranteed $ to talk bad about LIV next season. Interesting turn of events. Don’t think he will: has more integrity than that, I think. I wonder if the DOJ will like that?

He said he did not picture a world where this was completely true.
"But I do have to question his motivation for trashing LIV at this point," he said.
What did Chacarra say?
He told FlushingIt: "I see what it's like to win on the PGA Tour and how your life changes. How you get major access and ranking points.
"On LIV, nothing changes, there is only money. It doesn't matter if you finish thirtieth or first, only money.
"I'm not a guy who wants more money. What will change my life is playing in Hawaii and qualifying for the majors, qualifying for the Masters, the Ryder Cup.
"When I joined LIV they promised OWGR and majors. But it didn't happen. I trusted them.
"I was the first young guy, then the others came after I made the decision. But OWGR and majors still hasn't happened.
"I saw you last year when they pulled the bid. It's frustrating, but I'm excited for the new opportunity and to see where my game takes me."
