Greg Norman has outlined his next career move after his controversial tenure as LIV Golf's chief executive and commissioner came to an end.

Norman was replaced in the top position at the Saudi-backed breakaway tour last month by former NHL and NBA executive Scot O'Neil.

The two-time Open champion says he will 'always have a role' with LIV in some capacity but it is yet to be revealed what that position will be.

For the foreseeable future, though, Norman will be focussing his attentions on shaping the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane.

Norman told Courier Mail that he was headhunted to serve on the organising committee by the Australian prime minister Anika Wells.

"While I wish I could wind the clock back four decade  and compete in 2032 – it is a privilege to help shape the Brisbane Games," he told Courier Mail

"In my youth in the 70s, I worked in the golf shop at Royal Queensland, and now that course will be the home of golf at Brisbane 2032.

"As a proud Queenslander, it is an honour and privilege to help shape the Brisbane Games.

"We will prove our credentials as world leaders in events, sport and hospitality and create an incredible legacy for this state."

Wells said: “I look forward to drawing on his 40 years of global sporting experience and business acumen.

"Norman learned to play golf in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and – as a proud Queenslander – understands our state's sporting pride and is a passionate supporter of the Olympic and Paralympic movements."

Golf has become an increasingly popular Olympic sport since it returned to the Games in 2016.

England's Justin Rose cliched gold in Rio and Xander Schauffele won in four years later Tokyo.

Scottie Scheffler is the reigning Olympic champion.

Elsewhere, LIV Golf's third full season gets underway on 6 February in Riyadh.

The tournament will be played under the lights to try and attract more eyeballs from the United States after the league brokered a TV deal with Fox.

Elsewhere, all the team rosters have been confirmed for the 2025 season.

Highly-rated youngster Tom McKibbin has decided to accept a reported $5m offer to be a part of Jon Rahm's Legion XIII outfit.

McKibbin has been mentored by Rory McIlroy.

McIlroy confirmed he advised McKibbin not to accept LIV's offer as, in his view, McKibbin was giving up far too much.
