Tyrrell Hatton joked he should see how long he could breathe in for as a DP World Tour cameraman got a bit close and personal before the third round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

Hatton was in good spirits at Yas Links after he positioned himself quite nicely through 36 holes at the penultimate event of the DP World Tour season.

He has reason to be cheerful considering his recent Dunhill Links title, his third overall, meant that he did not have to stress about qualifying for next week's $10m season finale in Dubai.

And he was able to attend the wedding of his European Ryder Cup teammate Matthew Fitzpatrick, who finally tied the knot with Katherine Gaal.

"What are you looking at," Hatton joked with the cameraman on Saturday morning before he teed off.

"Camera in the face kind of day? Thanks."

As he was being followed down the fairway, he added: "I should see how long I can breathe in for for a side-on angle."

Hatton gives verdict on PGA Tour-PIF deal

Recent reports have suggested the long-awaited PGA Tour deal with LIV Golf's financiers, the Saudi PIF, has been agreed.

The Sun have reported that as part of a $1bn investment by the PIF into PGA Tour Enterprises, the vast wealth fund will take an 11 per cent stake in the North American circuit.

According to the paper, PIF governor and LIV mastermind Yasir Al-Rumayyan will be assume the role of chairman.

Rory McIlroy told reporters before teeing it up this week that the report was news to him.

"That's the first I've heard of it," the 35-year-old said.

Hatton, who joined LIV Golf alongside Jon Rahm for the breakaway tour's third campaign for a reported $50m, is keen for something to happen soon.

But he told media earlier in the week that he too is none the wiser if any developments are being made.

"I don't know, feels like a bit of a yo-yo, doesn't it," he said.

"It feels like it's getting closer, and then it doesn't sound like it's close.

"I'll play golf kind of where I want to play and we'll go from there."
