Watch Viktor Hovland crack a cheeky smile after HOLING OUT FOR EAGLE at Bay Hill
Viktor Hovland began the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in superb fashion, holing out for eagle on his first hole of the day.
Viktor Hovland began the PGA Tour's Arnold Palmer Invitational in superb fashion by holing out for eagle.
Hovland was part of the morning wave and started on the back nine at Bay Hill. The Norwegian, 25, was playing alongside Jason Day and Will Zalatoris.
His tee shot found the first cut of rough at No. 10 and he had 97 yards to the pin. We should also add he bombed his drive 310 yards.
Hovland struck his wedge beautifully and his golf ball took a couple of hops before checking past the flag and rolling in.
Put that putter away, Viktor!
Watch here:
That's some way to start your day. Hovland was the runner up at this event last year to Scottie Scheffler.
There is a star-studded field at Bay Hill this week as this represents the fourth elevated event of the season.
In case you missed it the biggest news this week came in the form of the PGA Tour announcing major changes to the 2024 schedule.
Those changes include reducing field sizes for some of the 'designated' events and removing the 36-hole cut.
This move was defended by the likes of Rory McIlroy as he claimed the PGA Tour was not copying the LIV Golf League.
It has to be said though, that Hovland et al are playing for a huge sum of money this week.
