Justin Thomas set to miss another PGA Tour cut!
Justin Thomas is set to miss his third cut this month.
Justin Thomas' month-long struggles have continued this week after the two-time major winner has missed another PGA Tour cut.
Thomas, 30, ended 2022 ranked No. 8 in the world, with a fresh PGA Championship win on his resume.
He then entered the new year with a flurry of five-straight top-25 finishes.
But since the conclusion of the 2023 PGA Championship, where Brooks Koepka won and Thomas found himself tied for 65th, the American has struggled with consistency.
After taking the week following the major off, Thomas returned with the Memorial Tournament - a favourite for many players and a designated event on the PGA Tour.
But the lucrative tournament would mark the first in a series of missed cuts over the month of June for Thomas, who shot back-to-back rounds of 75.
He missed the cut with a tournament total of 6-over par.
The following week, he shot rounds of 73 and 81 for one of the highest two-day totals at the US Open.
Last week, it looked as though the 15-time PGA Tour winner had rediscovered his form with a top-10 finish at the Travelers that included a 62 on the Saturday.
However, it was short-lived, as Thomas has found himself missing his third cut in the past five weeks with two tough rounds in Detroit.
Thomas opened the Rocket Mortgage Classic with a 76 on Thursday, but despite a 3-under 69 on Friday, it wasn't enough to push him into the weekend.
Heading into this week, Thomas had already dropped down to 17th in the World Rankings.
American Taylor Moore held the early clubhouse lead during Friday's second round with a 5-under 67. He was at 13-under par after 36 holes.
