Golf social media sensation Paige Spiranac has revealed her admiration for Scottie Scheffler after the new World No.1 ran away with The Players Championship on the PGA Tour.

Spiranac, who has amassed more Instagram followers than any other individual golfer including Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, considers Scheffler is an "even better person" than he is now a six-time PGA Tour winner.

Sorry Paige, he's taken

"Scottie Scheffler is so disgustingly good at golf and seems like an even better person," Spiranac tweeted. "Easy guy to root for."

Scheffler, who ran out a commanding five-shot victory at TPC Sawgrass on Sunday night, now moves ahead of Jon Rahm at the top of the world.

He's now in his 32nd cumulative week as the World No.1.

Scheffler's latest win marks his second title of the PGA Tour season and his sixth since bagging his first 13 months ago at the Phoenix Open, a tournament he successfully defended last month.

The red-hot American now has this week off to relax, and of course hone his game some more on the practice range, before turning his attentions to yet another title defence at the WGC Match Play.

He will then, arguably more importantly, attempt to become the first player to defend The Masters since Woods in 2002.

Scheffler is now the third player in history to hold both Masters and Players Championship titles at the same time.

Woods and Jack Nicklaus are the other two.

Spiranac has been enjoying some downtime in Australia the last few days.

She was seen watching the races over at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday.

"Giddy up," Paige captioned her latest tweet.

She also got to visit Royal Melbourne, considered a Top 10 course in the world.
