He may small in stature but Rory McIlroy hit a monster driver yesterday on his way to an opening round course record of 64 at the Scottish Open.
The 25-year-old hit the mammoth shot on the 13th hole at Royal Aberdeen and looks set to add another trophy to the cabinet ahed of the Open next week at Hoylake.
Everyone seemed pretty bemused, especially the cameraman, when the ball ended up trickling onto the green on the par-4 while the group in front were still putting out.
McIlroy is tipped by many to do well at the penultimate major of the season following his impressive victory at Wentworth.
The Ulsterman was at Archefield on Monday to open Nike's first ever Performance Fitting Centre.
Rory tees off at 1.20pm today and there are a number of top players a few shot back including US Open winner Justin Rose.
