Genesis Scottish Open 2022 LIVE: Scores, leaderboard, updates from Round Two

Keep up to date with round two of The Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick.

American Cameron Tringale held a three-shot lead going into day two after shooting a sublime, bogey-free 9-under 61.

Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick have both made significant moves on Friday in East Lothian, shooting 65 and 66 respectively to move into contention.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler struggled in the first round, making four bogeys and a double-bogey on his way to a 3-over-par 73. He teed off at 1.15 pm looking to recover.

14 of the top 15 players in the world have flocked to The Renaissance Club to complete their final preparations for The 150th Open Championship next week at St Andrews.

The projected cut is 2-over par.

Big names Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Hideki Matsuyama are on course to miss the cut by some way.

Ian Poulter, who has riled up his fellow pros by taking legal action to play here, shot an 8-over par 78 on day one and a 72 on Friday to finish on 10-over for the week.

Three bogeys in a row for Tringale!

How things can change so quickly in a professional golf tournament!

Cameron Tringale has now bogeyed the 16th, 17th and 18th holes to fall back to 8-under-par and 1-over for his second round.

However, the winless American still has a three-shot lead from Doug Ghim...

Rounds dragging on in East SLOW-thian!

Jon Rahm teed off at 1.15 pm earlier this afternoon, and he just teed off on the 14th tee box at the Renaissance Club.

Four hours for 13 full holes is extremely slow and it is indicative of the tough conditions the players are facing in the second round of the Genesis Scottish Open.

Many of the world's best players such as Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas are on course to miss the cut...

Walk and talk with Jon Rahm!

Listen in to what Jon Rahm had to say during his second round earlier today...

Back-to-back bogeys for the leader!

Cracks are beginning to show in Cameron Tringale's second round in East Lothian.

He hit a poor greenside chip on the par-3 17th hole, his eighth of the day, which led to his third bogey of the day.

He falls back to 9-under-par but with Doug Ghim also making a bogey on the 8th hole, the lead stays at four shots.

Back-to-back bogeys for the leader!

Rahm and Spieth both find birdies!

Jon Rahm is battling away in North Berwick on Friday and he finds another birdie on the par-4 11th hole.

The Spaniard moves on to 3-under-par and although Cameron Tringale is seven shots ahead on 10-under-par, there are many holes to play.

Meanwhile, 2017 Open champion Jordan Spieth birdied the par-5 10th hole to reach 4-under-par for the week.

Spieth is yet to make a bogey in the second round at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Tringale is human!

Cameron Tringale has made his first six of the week on the par-5 16th hole at The Renaissance Club.

It is his second bogey of the day, but it's by no means time for panic stations as he still leads by four shots on 10-under-par.

Doug Ghim is in outright second place on 6-under-par...

Jon Rahm makes the turn...

Jon Rahm has played his first nine holes in 1-over par.

Two bogeys and one birdie for the former World No. 1.

He's got work to do...

But as I type this, he's just made a birdie at No. 10 and moves to 2-under par for the tournament.

Never change, Jordan Spieth...

Some classic Jordan Spieth chatter here:

Tringale drops a shot...

Some developments in the last 10 minutes or so.

Doug Ghim has now joined Tyrrell Hatton on 4-under par.

He's had two birdies in a row.

Speaking of Hatton, he's playing some decent stuff out there.

Tringale, who did reach 11-under par, has dropped a shot now.

Remarkably, it's his first bogey of the week and it came at the par-3 14th hole.

He took three shots to get down from the fringe of the green.

15:29
Daniel Berger withdraws from The Open

Some bad news for Daniel Berger.

The American has withdrawn from the 150th Open at St. Andrews through injury.

Berger has struggled for the entire season on and off with a back problem.

He has been replaced in the field by Sahith Theegala.

15:25
Tringale is RELENTLESS

Cameron Tringale has opened his second round at The Renaissance Club with two birdies in his opening three holes.

The American, who has never won the PGA Tour, still hasn't made a bogey this week in North Berwick.

He has reached 11-under-par and he is now four shots ahead of former US Open champion Gary Woodland...

Rahm makes crowd roar on hole 6!

Jon Rahm started round two at The Renaissance Club with two bogeys but he has bounced back on the short par-3 6th hole!

The former World No.1 rolled in a perfect 30-foot putt to reach 1-under-par for the day.

Much like many other players, Rahm will be hoping leader Cameron Tringale will drop a couple of shots if they are to contend at the weekend...

Rose creeps into contention...

Justin Rose has only made two top-10s on the PGA Tour this season, but he is impressing so far at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Despite a bogey just then on the par-4 4th hole, he is 3-under for the tournament and well placed to challenge for his 11th PGA Tour title.

The 41-year-old came tied fourth at the RBC Canadian Open recently and he came tied 37th at the US Open...

Woodland off to perfect start!

Gary Woodland is challenging Cameron Tringale at the top of the leaderboard with a birdie at his first hole!

After a perfect chip on the par-5 10th hole, he rolled in his putt to move to 7-under-par for the week.

The former US Open champion is just two shots behind fellow American Tringale on what could be an intriguing second round in East Lothian...

Scheffler on the comeback trail!

With a birdie on the 4th hole, could World No.1 Scottie Scheffler begin a charge in today's second round?

The 25-year-old is 3-over-par for the week and with the projected cut at 2-over, he will need to step on the gas to play at the weekend...

The leaders are underway...

Cameron Tringale and Gary Woodland have got their rounds underway.

And as I type this, Justin Harding has dropped a shot.

And it seems that elsewhere birdies are dropping in everywhere.

Rasmus Hojgaard has just drained a 50-feet birdie putt on the fourth green.

That was off the back of a birdie at the third hole for the Dane.

The young pro is now in a tie for third at 5-under par.

In other news, American Xander Schauffele has finished his round and he shot a stunning 5-under today in tricky conditions.

He's at 3-under going into the weekend inside the top-10.

14:03
How are the LIV Golf players getting on?

Justin Harding had some interesting comments yesterday

He's started solid today and is level par thru six holes and remains at 5-under par.

Branden Grace, who won the second LIV Golf invitational event in Portland, looks safely through to the weekend at 1-over par.

Adrian Otageui is scrapping to make the weekend and is at 2-over par for the tournament and 1-over par for his round after six holes.

Ian Poulter will miss the weekend. The Englishman is currently in a tie for 145th after finishing 36 holes at 10-over par.

13:57
Tough finish for Fitzpatrick...

Matthew Fitzpatrick carded a 4-under par 66.

He didn't make a mistake until his closing two holes. He made bogey at No. 8 and 9 to finish off which will be irritating for the U.S. Open champion.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he says it hasn't got old yet being announced as a major winner.

Reflecting on his shot into 18 at The Country Club, he told Nick Dougherty that it was "the shot of my life".

Fitzpatrick currently sits T-9th alongside a host of players at 3-under par.

He's perfectly positioned for the weekend...

13:52
Thomas Bjorn disqualified...

We've got more on that DQ from Thomas Bjorn.

Read here.

13:40
Big names missing the weekend

Thanks Matt for the valuable updates.

Justin Thomas has just finished up his round and he's carded a second round of 77 to go along with his opening 73.

At 10-over par, he'll have the weekend off. Maybe he should join LIV? Right JT? Right?!

Anyway, surely some practice at the Old Course beckons for the two-time major champion.

13:25
Scheffler, Rahm and Hovland are underway!

After a difficult morning on Thursday, World No.1 Scottie Scheffler will be hoping he can recover from a 73.

Take a look below at where he and his playing partners stand at the start of day two of the Genesis Scottish Open:

-2 J Rahm

+3 S Scheffler

+4 V Hovland
