Talor Gooch's infamous Ryder Cup comment after LIV Golf win? "I don't regret it"
Talor Gooch says he doesn't regret making his infamous Ryder Cup comment after a LIV Golf event in 2022 as he pleaded for Ryder Cup consideration.
Talor Gooch says he doesn't regret making his infamous Ryder Cup comment after LIV Golf's event in Portland, but insists it was said in the heat of the moment.
In case you have forgotten, Gooch was roasted by fellow players and golf fans for making what was considered an astonishing claim in the immediate aftermath of the 4 Aces' team victory.
Gooch, 31, who has now traded over to Bubba Watson's RangeGoats, caused Dustin Johnson to look away with a grin and even Patrick Reed to raise his eyebrows.

"I haven't played a Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup, but I can't imagine there's a whole hell of a lot of difference," Gooch said. "This was as cool as it gets. We've been saying it all week. The energy is just different, it's awesome."
Well, fast-forward to July 2023 and Gooch is in London for what can be described as LIV's one-year anniversary.
He told Telegraph Sport's James Corrigan:
Gooch has won three LIV Golf events in his last five starts and unsurprisingly is leading the 2023 LIV Golf money list.
His goal is to ultimately force Zach Johnson to think about handing him a captain's pick for the Ryder Cup.
Gooch added:
Gooch said he hasn't heard from the U.S. skipper, who this talked up Brooks Koepka after his return to major-championship winning form.
The American claimed there would be nothing cooler than beating Europe's Postman.
He continued:
