Ian Poulter pays up after smashing in his US Open locker!
Poulter hands over some dollar following his locker mishap at the US Open...
Cast your mind back two years to the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills, and you might just remember Ian Poulter was irate at the state of the course, in particular the greens.
Those emotions appeared to boil over when Poulter got back into the locker room that week, as this week the Englishman revealed the condition he had left his locker in following an apologetic post on his Instagram account.
"When you've been a naughty boy," read Poulter's Instagram post as he handed over some money to the USGA for the damage he had caused.
"2 years ago at Shinnecock Hills... I must have tripped and fallen against my locker causing it to fall apart [crying laughter].
"Robbie felt I was still a little warm last year so left it 2 years before asking for reimbursement for the damage.
"Today I repaid Robbie for my mishap."
GolfMagic in fact spoke to Poulter a week after the US Open at Shinnecock Hills during an American Golf event, so you can check out his thoughts from that week in our exclusive interview with him below...
Poulter heads into this week's US Open ranked 60th in the world rankings but has only registered one top-10 finish on the PGA Tour since golf's return in May with a tie for fifth at the Workday Charity Open.
