Happy Gilmore announces university commitment!?
Happy Gilmore announced his new career move on Friday.
Happy Gilmore announced Friday via Twitter that he would be taking his golf career to the collegiate stage.
That's right, the real Happy Gilmore - a senior high school student in the US - has announced his commitment to Ball State University.
"I am very excited to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and golf career at Ball State University," Gilmore wrote in a tweet on Friday. "I am very grateful for the opportunity Coach Fleck has given me! I would like to thank my family, my friends and coaches who push me everyday!"

Gilmore of course happens to share a name with one of the most famous golf movie characters of all-time.
The movie Gilmore is played by the hilarious comedian Adam Sandler, and is arguably one of his most iconic roles.
Shortly after Gilmore's tweet announcing his commitment, Sandler wished the amateur good luck in his own tweet on Friday.
He wrote:
Here's Sandler's message:
Go get em Happy. Pulling for you. https://t.co/4o4LOoAWDN
