WATCH: Pro PUTTS out of a BUNKER during DP World Tour event
A Tour pro had a very unusual club choice to get out of the bunker during the DP World Tour event on Thursday.
A pro playing in the DP World Tour's European Open this week had one of the most unusual club choices to get out of the bunker on Thursday.
This week the DP World Tour is in Hamburg, Germany at Green Eagle Golf Courses for the Porsche European Open.
Ewen Ferguson, 26, is one of many DP World Tour players in the field this week for the event.
Ferguson is a two-time DP World Tour winner after winning twice in 2022. The Scotsman first turned professional back in 2016.
On Thursday, during the first round of the tournament, Ferguson had one of the most unorthodox approaches to getting his ball out of the sand.
While on the par-3 8th, Ferguson found the left green-side bunker.
And instead of taking a typical route to get out of the sand, he had a much more creative approach to the hole.
Ferguson pulled out his putter, and used an aggressive stroke to roll his ball out of the shallow bunker.
Miraculously, it worked, leaving him six feet left to save par.
Here's the full clip of Ferguson's second shot:

Unfortunately for Ferguson, however, while he did successfully get his ball out of the bunker, it wasn't enough to get up-and-down for par.
Instead, he made two putts from within six feet to settle for a bogey 4.
