Since his move to LIV Golf and the mountains of controversy that surrounded Phil Mickelson's actions in the process, he has been largely quiet on social media and fairly low-key.

There has been an odd comment here and there on Twitter. On December 10, Lefty tweeted his excitement for the match between Tiger WoodsRory McIlroy and Jordan SpiethJustin Thomas.

On November 29, the six-time major champion replied to a tweet from Kyle Porter of CBS listing the financial details of the PGA Tour, the value of its stocks and other monetary figures.

For the most part, he has been inactive. It is currently the off-season for LIV Golf and the second season isn't set to kick off until the Mayakoba Invitational on February 24.

In his spare time, Mickelson was evidently watching the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the DP World Tour last week, which was won by Frenchman Victor Perez.

On Friday, the DP World Tour tweeted a video of a superb chip that European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald hit at Yas Links. The Englishman replied to the tweet and explained his thought process and why he took the flag out.

"There was a massive slope going down to the hole. I had to fly the ball all the way to the hole with spin for any chance of getting it close - didn’t want the chance it flew into the flag on the fly and pinged off 40 feet away," Donald wrote.

The chip was magnificent and for a brief moment, Donald rolled back the years to contend at the top of the leaderboard in the Middle East. He would go on to finish tied for 38th.

Mickelson replied to Donald in the only way a fellow short-game king can: "It was the right play. I feel ya captain." There have been countless occasions in his illustrious career when the 52-year-old has stunned fans with his magic hands around the greens.

Mickelson's chipping expertise helped him to 45 wins on the PGA Tour, but unfortunately for some, we won't be seeing that on the American circuit again.
