Will this hidden-away Buckinghamshire course provide me with a quality experience?

Practice facilities, green fees, and verdict

The practice facilities are unique in style and offer realistic practice during a quick session.

The first hole used to be an uphill par 3 with a large bunker protecting the front edge of the green, but this is now used as a practice area for bunker play and has a long green with multiple holes to work on your short game.

There's also a contoured putting green, as well as a small driving range just to the right of the first hole which hugs the neighbouring forest in a very tranquil setting.

The visitor green fees are £20-24 and £12-14 for juniors but there is also a September promotion offering £15 play at weekends.

Membership is currently £755 for Adults (£67.00 per month) and just a one-off payment of £75 for juniors.

I have also worked with the club professional Graeme Davies for the instructional section who I found to be very helpful when learning from him. On September 24th he's starting an hour-long men's group lesson every Tuesday for just £7.

Verdict

As I only live a ten-minute drive away, I've played this course many times and there's a reason why I keep going back.

I'm currently playing off 12 and although I only get my driver out maybe once or twice during the round, the importance of accurate iron shots really helps your game and provides you with a stiff challenge.

It also has a fantastic atmosphere with friendly staff that make you feel welcome whenever you turn up to play. I would say it's a great day out for only £15 a round after 2pm at the weekend.
