'Prison fade' golf fans react to Scheffler's new haircut (and tan line) at US Open
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler has rocked up to the first round of the US Open with a new haircut and questionable tan line.
Scottie Scheffler has rocked up to the first round of the US Open with a fresh skin fade and very questionable tan line.
Scheffler, 27, was a red-hot favourite at odds of 3/1 on the eve of the US Open, the shortest price at a major since Tiger Woods in 2009.
The runaway World No.1 has been grouped with World No.2 Xander Schauffele and World No.3 Rory McIlroy for the first two rounds at Pinehurst No.2 in North Carolina.
He is bidding to win a third career major title and sixth title in his last nine starts.
But back to the top of the story. Scheffler's trim.
While many fans were just happy Scheffler had arrived at the course without having been arrested, others were questioning his new trim.
The skin fade looked fresh, unlike the tan line, which looked pretty sore.
Some thought Scheffler's new haircut had 'prison vibes' about it, while others thought he looked like Stewart Cink, a man who possibly had the finest tan line of all time.
Many just hoped Scottie brought the sunscreen with him to Pinehurst No.2 today.
Here's that gem we saw back in the day on the PGA Tour from Cink by the way...
Scheffler's haircut was all the rage on social media just before he teed off in the first round.
