He's just recorded a quadruple bogey nine (!) on the par-5 15th and is now six over for the tournament.
Yikes.

From there, he sends his sixth shot long of the green again.
And his subsequent putt is well, well short.

Homa just hit what will likely be one of the shots of the day at the par-4 17th.
His approach from the fairway is perhaps on oscillation away from going in the hole.
Still, it's an easy birdie though for the American, who is yet to break 70 at Augusta National.
Meanwhile, Woods finds fairway and green in regulation but his birdie putt is well short.
He taps in for his par and Day scrambles for and up-and-down after missing the green right.
Young -2 (17)
The New Yorker is still searching for his first victory and he is regarded as a dark horse to win this week.
He's going well and knocks in his birdie putt at the par-4 17th.

Matthew Fitzpatrick carded an opening round of one under 71 but the Englishman is not happy.
He revealed he is having more equipment issues, this time with his irons.

Nightmare fuel from the Australian as he makes a double at 16.
Woods two putts for his par and Homa converts his birdie putt to get to five under.
Woods E, Homa -4, Day E (15)
Max Homa is close on the par-3 16th, Jason Day has the world to miss right but hits his tee shot left and finds the water.
Woods strikes his 7 iron well, but it's a little bit too long and he'll have a tricky birdie putt.
Nicolai Hojgaard finishes with two consecutive pars to sign for a five under 67.

To a middle pin, Woods plays a nifty bump and run and he almost holes it.

Like many before him, Fleetwood finds the front trap.
But he knocks his bunker shot close and saves his par.

The American is putting in a performance that is typical of his 2024 so far.
He finds the front trap at the par-3 12th and splashes out to within six feet.
And he holes the par putt.
Rory McIlroy will begin his second round at 18:48 BST alongside Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.
Hojgaard -5 (17)
The debutant is having a superb debut Masters.
He has a chance to move level with Scottie Scheffler on six under at 17 but he misses his birdie putt low.
What a first round from the Dane.
Ludvig Abeg -2 (12)
The Swedish phenom is going well in his first Masters.
He knocks it close on the renowned par-3 12th but can't convert his birdie putt.
Still, he hasn't dropped a shot yet
Hatton -1 (15)
The Englishman starts with a shocker after finding the water with his third shot at the par-5 15th.
He walks off the green with a double bogey and is visibly raging.
Tiger Woods E (14)
It's a bit chilly at Augusta National this morning and Woods is wrapped up.
His tee shot finds the fairway but he misses the green short with a wedge and can't get up and down to save his par.
It's going to be an exhausting day for the big cat.
