Solheim Cup 2026 LIVE: Day 1 Scores, Updates and Highlights as Europe battle USA

Welcome to live day one updates from the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.

The United States and Europe are locked at 2-2 after a thrilling opening foursomes session at the Solheim Cup, with the two sides trading blows at Bernardus Golf.

History was made in the opening match as Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz became the first pairing in Solheim Cup history to win each of their first five matches together.

World No.1 Korda and Corpuz, who have forged an impressive partnership in recent years, defeated England’s Charley Hull and Lottie Woad 4&3 to put the first point on the board for the defending champions.

Hull, making her eighth Solheim Cup appearance, and debutant Woad were regarded as one of Europe’s strongest pairings on paper, but struggled to find their rhythm in their first competitive partnership.

Korda was delighted with another victory alongside Corpuz.

“She’s just so solid, I enjoy playing alongside her so much,” Korda said.

Corpuz returned the compliment, adding: “The exact same thing. It’s so much easier playing where she puts me in the fairway.”

Korda added: “It’s great to get the first point on the board, still a lot of work to get done, but nice to see some red on the board.”

The USA doubled their advantage in the second match, with Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin beating Europe’s Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Celine Boutier.

Europe, however, refused to let the session get away from them.

Esther Henseleit and Leona Maguire pulled one back with a 2&1 victory over Andrea Lee and Lindy Duncan, with the result further underlining Maguire’s remarkable Solheim Cup record.

The Irish star now boasts a 9-3-1 record in the competition, giving her the highest winning percentage of any European Solheim Cup player.

Swedish duo Maja Stark and Linn Grant then completed Europe’s comeback by comfortably defeating Rose Zhang and Jennifer Kupcho 3&2.

That leaves the contest perfectly poised at 2-2 heading into Friday afternoon’s fourballs, with four more matches getting underway from 12.05pm GMT.
