Tour pro fumes at airline after his golf clubs have not turned up all week
DP World Tour pro Andy Sullivan vents frustration on social media as American Airlines loses his golf clubs.
Another week on the PGA Tour, and another story of a disgruntled Tour pro having lost their golf clubs.
This week, it's Andy Sullivan's turn.
The Englishman has taken to X / Twitter to vent his frustration with American Airlines.
Sullivan, 37, is a four-time winner on the DP World Tour and he was competing in this week's Barracuda Championship, which is a modified points scoring tournament.
The event is playing alongside this week's Open Championship at Royal Troon but it's co-sanctioned with the PGA Tour for a second week in a row following last week's Genesis Scottish Open.
Unfortunately for Sullivan though, he was having to play this week's tournament with a replacement set of clubs.
That's because his own set of golf clubs have been lost all week.
Sullivan's game appeared to be affected too.
He made 0 points in the first round and 9 points in the second round.
But that led to a missed cut.
After bowing out of the tournament on Friday night, Sullivan tweeted on Sunday that his golf clubs still haven't turned up and that he is due to fly back to London tomorrow.
Sullivan tweeted: "Thanks @AmericanAir for loosing [sic] my clubs for 6 days and still haven’t even got to my destination. And flying home tomorrow to London customer service has been terrible."
American Airlines replied to Sullivan's tweet in a bid to try and locate where his golf clubs are right now.
Sullivan has had a bit of a rollercoaster season so far but he has had three top-five finishes on the DP World Tour.
He currently ranks 235th in the OWGR.
Lost golf clubs or even damaged golf clubs is becoming an all too frequent issue it would seem in 2024.
Last month a Tour pro was left devastated after his golf clubs and bag were destroyed en route to a tournament.
LIV Golf's Ian Poulter was left fuming at an airline en route to Houston, and so too was PGA Tour pro Adam Hadwin who hit out at Air Canada.
The golf clubs of Matt Fitzpatrick and his brother Alex Fitzpatrick also went missing earlier this season.
We could go on...
Come on airlines, do better. Our golf clubs aren't cheap you know.
