Rumour about PGA Tour star Max Homa turns out to be true
PGA Tour star Max Homa has signed a multi-year equipment deal with Cobra after leaving Titleist.
PGA Tour star Max Homa has officially inked an equipment deal with Cobra.
Homa turned professional in 2013 and has always been a Titleist ambassador.
He has also used the Pro V1 golf ball and worn FootJoy gear throughout his career that has so far yielded six wins on Tour.
The American will look a bit different this year, though, as he has signed a multi-year contract with Cobra.
Homa has also joined Lululemon as an ambassador after his FootJoy deal expired.
It is unclear if Homa will continue to use the Pro V1.
At the time of publication, Homa was still listed as an endorser on Titleist's website.
The Cobra Tour staff also includes Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland and LPGA Tour star Lexi Thompson.
Homa is one of sixty players in the field at The Sentry which kicks off on 2 January at the Plantation Course at Kapalua.
The 34-year-old is playing the first two rounds of the first event of the new campaign alongside Sahith Theegala and Tony Finau.
"I am super excited to join the Cobra Puma Golf team," Homa said in a statement.
"Gear that's on the cutting edge of technology and the most comfortable shoes in the game are a great combination for any player.
"The Cobra Puma Golf brands are undoubtedly a natural fit for my game, style, and personality and I'm looking forward to a long-term relationship that will be fun and exciting for years to come."
He added: "Throughout the testing process with the Cobra Tour and R&D team, I was incredibly impressed with the performance of the clubs, and I think they will truly give me a competitive advantage.
"I love the look, sound and feel of the new DS-ADAPT driver, and the new FutureFit33 hosel is a gamer changer in terms of fine-tuning performance."
The deal will allow Homa to have some flexibility to pick and choose a few non-Cobra clubs.
We will have to wait and see exactly what will be in his bag this week.
GOLF reported he was spotted in Hawaii using a Cobra Limit3D 4-iron and a King CB 5-iron along with a custom 6-PW set of prototype 3D-printed irons along with their Cobra DS-ADAPT LS Driver.
It is understood Homa will also be wearing the new Puma Ignite Elevate 2 Tour golf shoe.
