PGA Tour golfer Shane Lowry makes up his mind over controversial sponsor
PGA Tour golfer and Ryder Cup star Shane Lowry has agreed to sever his ties with insulation company Kingspan following damning public inquiry findings.
PGA Tour golfer and European Ryder Cup star Shane Lowry has agreed to sever his ties with Kingspan.
The insulation company has been criticised throughout the Grenfell Tower inquiry which began in June 2017.
The blaze resulted in the deaths of 72 people in west London.
Before the final report was delivered last week, Lowry was urged to part ways with Kingspan.
Campaigners for the bereaved families claimed they wrote to Lowry repeatedly but received no word back.

Ed Daffarn, a committee member for the Grenfell United group, previously told the Irish Times: "We've been writing to him for years, saying get this sponsorship off your arm.
"It's deeply upsetting and deeply offensive, and he doesn't reply to us. This is where all that stops."
But now Lowry has confirmed he has agreed to end his deal.
In a short statement, Lowry said: "Kingspan and I have mutually agreed to discontinue our sponsorship relationship, which we believe to be the right decision for all concerned at this time.
"Neither party will be commenting further."
Lowry's deal with Kingspan began in 2017.

Kingspan's insulation product, Kooltherm K15, was not the reason for the fire.
But the final report found the company 'knowingly created a false market in insulation' from 2005 onwards for use on buildings over 18 metres tall.
