PGA Tour golfer ripped after calling out club-twirling aspiring pro
PGA Tour member Michael Kim caused a stir on social media after he questioned if an aspiring golfer should be twirling his golf clubs.
Only multiple PGA Tour winners should be twirling their clubs.
At least that was the verdict of current member Michael Kim, who didn't appear enamoured watching a video of aspiring pro and club twirl enthusiast Ian Gilligan.
Gilligan is a senior in the Florida Gators men's team and is currently 11th in the PGA Tour University standings.
He played in last week's Shriners Children's Open and was featured by the PGA Tour's social media team because he just loves a club twirl.
Apparently over each and every shot...
"I've always loved a club twirl," he said. "It's just fun.
"I feel like sometimes it just gives me confidence. Sometimes I've done it when, like, I'm under pressure.
"Sometimes in a pre-shot routine, and it just gives me a boost of confidence."
Gilligan explained that Tiger Woods had the best twirls over the years, highlighting examples two examples at the Presidents Cup.
In 2009, Woods fired a dart at Harding Park's 18th hole to close out his foursomes match against Mike Weir and Tim Clark.
His reaction was perhaps cooler than the actual shot.
In 2013 at Muirfield Village, Woods struck a 5-wood from 238 yards to three feet.
Again, Woods' twirl was epic.

Reacting to the video, Kim wrote: "I'm sure he's a nice kid and this is solely my opinion but if you do a club twirl and you don't have multiple Tour wins? I'm just gonna..."
Kim added some rolled-eyes emojis to his post.
But he was hit with a zinger in the replies.
"Well keep practicing hard and eventually you might be allowed to club twirl," one user replied to Kim.
Kim, 31, turned professional in 2013 and has one Tour win to his resume.
That came at the 2018 John Deere Classic.
His status for next season is currently up in the air, but he boosted his FedEx Cup ranking significantly over the weekend with a strong finish at TPC Summerlin.
Kim posted a top five finish courtesy of a final round 9-under 62 that included 10 birdies.
It's unlikely there were many club twirls, though...
