Nobody can believe how Rory McIlroy shot didn't go down (?!) at RBC Heritage
Rory McIlroy agonisingly denied eagle hole-out on par-4 8th with brutal break.
Rory McIlroy was denied an eagle hole-out by the smallest of margins on the par-4 8th in the third round of the RBC Heritage.
McIlroy, 34, split the middle of the fairway at the tricky 8th and then sent a gorgeous iron shot down the flag.
The ball trundled out on line with the pin and for all the world appeared as though it was about to go down for an eagle-two.
But McIlroy's ball had other ideas as it clattered against the pin and rested beyond the hole.
Nevertheless, it was the simplest of birdie-threes for McIlroy on one of the toughest holes at Harbour Town Golf Links.

McIlroy is bidding to win the RBC Heritage for the first time in his career.
The World No.2 went on to card a 3-under 68 to move to 10-under par, but that sees him lie six shots behind leader Scottie Scheffler.

Incredibly, McIlroy has only picked up one top-10 finish on the PGA Tour this season.
His last victory on the PGA Tour came at the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open last July.
McIlroy is using a brand new TaylorMade Mini Driver at the RBC Heritage this week.
