Jordan Spieth has confirmed he plans to make his comeback to the PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Spieth had wrist surgery last August after he failed to advance past the first stage of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

The American has had the niggling injury for a while but resisted the temptation to go under the knife.

But he eventually decided that it was inevitable and has been out of action for more than five months.

It is his longest injury layoff since 2012.

He has now confirmed to Associated Press, though, that he will make his return at the at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

The tournament, which as been given signature status, begins on 30 January.

Spieth, 31, also revealed that his immediate goals are to win the PGA Championship to complete the career grand slam and also the coveted Players Championship.

"I think I'm trying to look big picture," he told AP.

"I don't want to put too much pressure on a hot start.

"I just want to get back into a rhythm.

"This is by far the longest I've gone between tournament rounds."

Spieth confirmed his plan is to try and play three weeks in a row and assess how his wrist is feeling before formulating a schedule in the run-up to The Masters.

He sustained his wrist injury whilst playing with his son Sammy and the surgery repaired the sheath that holds the tendon in place.

Bone chips were also removed.

Spieth struggled for form in 2024 and has seen his world ranking drop from 43 to 70 since he had the surgery.

He explained that, more than anything, he just wants to get back to playing at a high level again.

Especially in a Ryder Cup year.

"I think the biggest goals for me, I want to feel like I step on the tee and I know I'm one of the best golfers in the world," he said.

"I have no doubts about that when I step on the tee.

"I want things to be in place where I feel consistent enough to believe that day in and day out.

"It has to do with being on runs where you're finishing in the top 10, top 15 every week.

"I know that feeling. That's the feeling I want to get back to."
