Pictures: Tiger Woods returns to Royal Troon ahead of The Open
Three-time Open champion Tiger Woods has got his preparation underway ahead of the final men's major of the year at Royal Troon.
Tiger Woods has returned to Scotland ahead of the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Woods, 48, missed the major last year after undergoing more surgery on his right ankle.
The last time we saw Woods in an Open he was reduced to tears at the home of golf.
Woods likely bid farewell to his final ever Open at St Andrews in 2022 after he missed the cut.
At this point it was suggested to Woods that he should retire but he's still going and adamant he can be competitive.
The 15-time major winner arrived at Royal Troon on Sunday via his private jet to begin his preparations.
He played all 18 holes on Monday alongside his caddie Lance Bennett.
Interestingly, Woods decided to play his practice round alone.
He would usually play alongside his good buddy Justin Thomas but decided not to this year.
Woods' teenage son Charlie was also absent.
Hundreds of fans followed him and he almost made a hole-in-one.
Woods was also surrounded by three security guards, according to bunkered.
Should Woods make it through this week without withdrawing, it would mark the first time he has played all four majors since 2019.
Woods has not played an Open at Royal Troon since 2004 when he tied for ninth.
He tied for 24th at Troon in 1997 and was injured when Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson went toe-to-toe in 2016.
