Bob MacIntyre cracks up reporters with response to Rory McIlroy question
You just knew Bob MacIntyre was going to say this before he actually did when asked a certain Rory McIlroy question.
Bob MacIntyre just couldn't help himself when asked a certain Rory McIlroy question ahead of the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
MacIntyre, 27, was speaking to reporters fresh off landing an emotional win on home soil at the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.
The Scot has now won two of his last five starts on the PGA Tour and surged to a career-high 16th in the world.
But he certainly relied on good fortune to become the first Scot in 25 years to win the Scottish Open.
That was after it came to light with a rules official that he had been standing on a sprinkler head in the rough.
MacIntyre got a drop and then hit his ball to six feet.
In went the eagle putt, and he then followed it up with a birdie from 25 feet on 18 to seal a one-shot win over Adam Scott.
MacIntyre then confirmed rumours about what happened on Sunday night were indeed true.

One reporter asked MacIntyre at Royal Troon on Wednesday whether he thinks The Renaissance Club should do the same thing for him as they did for McIlroy following the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open.
The club recently installed a plaque exactly where McIlroy hit his epic 2-iron to 10 feet on the 18th en route to defeating MacIntyre by one last season.
The reporter asked MacIntyre: "Is there anywhere on the golf course that you'd like to see a plaque with your name on it when you get there in 2025?"
MacIntyre replied: "I think it's a gold-plated sprinkler."
The only issue is that nobody would see it.
