The general manager of Dustin Johnson's LIV Golf team says the two-time major champion is unlikely to be playing in the next 10-15 years.

Chris Rosaasen made the claim in a conversation with bunkered about the future of the 4Aces.

The breakaway tour only has two events left of the 2024 campaign and two of Johnson's teammates, Harold Varner III and Pat Perez, are facing the threat of relegation.

That means Johnson will have to go on a recruitment drive if the two golfers don't avoid the drop zone.

"Some of our players have their fate in their own hands and there's nothing we can do about it," Rosaasen told the publication

"I have been approached by some other general managers and captains about some interest in our players.

"Nothing will happen until the end of the year but there definitely could be some shake-ups."

It's likely that LIV will target a few more high-profile signings in the offseason given some players' contracts are due to expire.

But, Rosaasen claims, they are also looking at much younger players.

He added: "DJ is a captain and owner of the team so his name will theoretically be associated with this for all time,.

"But he wouldn't argue this. I don't think he's going to be playing 15 years from now.

"He and I have sat down and said, 'How are we going to build the foundations for what this team is?'

"Its even to scout kids who might be able to be on this team 5-10 years from now. Good high-school players, good college players.

"We're building the budget for next year to start outfitting these guys so its almost like the minor leagues for 4Aces.

"So we contact these guys who we think might be good and its like, 'Hey why don't we sponsor you now?' Wear the 4Aces kit in all your other competitions and we're starting to start you guys early.

"Even down to high school. It's crazy how young these guys are turning pro these days. You’ve got to start looking early, for sure.

"This has all started happening in the last couple months that we've started thinking that way."

Which LIV Golf players are in danger of being axed?

Six players will be relegated at the conclusion of the season.

The aforementioned Varner and Perez are 47th and 48th in the standings.

Ian Poulter is 46th but is exempt from relegation because he is a captain.
