Brooks Koepka was reportedly involved in an unpleasant exchange with Matthew Wolff after his Smash side were knocked out of LIV Golf's $50m team championship.
Koepka did his part for the team, beating Phil Mickelson 6&4 in their quarterfinal match against the HyFlyers.
Mickelson's teammate Cameron Tringale defeated Jason Kokrak 2&1 which left Koepka relying on Wolff and his brother Chase to win their foursomes match against James Piot and Brendan Steele.
Piot and Steele eventually closed out the contest on the final hole to send Smash home early.
After the match, Koepka was involved in an heated exchange with Wolff on the green.
@LIVGolfUpdates reported: "Some...unfriendly conversation on the green between Brooks and Wolff after HyFlyers closed out the match. Seems best they go their separate ways."
Brooks called out Wolff before LIV Golf London and accused the young American of giving up in tournament rounds.
Wolff said the criticism was heartbreaking after Koepka said his obvious talent was 'wasted'.
The elder Koepka then doubled down on his criticism in Jeddah a week before the Ryder Cup by explaining there are only 'three' members on his team.
And during his press conference at Trump National Doral at the beginning of this week he said it was difficult to help someone who 'didn't want to be helped'.
"I've tried," he said.
As LIV played out the first day of their team championship, golf fans were reacting to the comments Koepka made on Jake Paul's BS podcast.
In that appearance, Koepka confirmed his LIV Golf fee was north of $100m and finally admitted he joined the breakaway tour for the cash.
"I'm gonna be honest with you: I signed for the dough," he said.
"I'm 100 percent behind that. Tomorrow I can go get in a car accident and never play golf again and my family's taken care of. And that was a big thing for me, like, I'm not doing it for anything else.
"Everybody else, they go to their 9 to 5, most people don't like their 9 to 5 but they're doing it because of their paycheck, and that is the same thing as us."
Elsewhere, Sergio Garcia's Fireballs advanced with a 2-1 victory over the all-European Majesticks.
The Cleeks caused an upset and defeated Cameron Smith's Ripper 2-1. Stinger defeated the Iron Heads 3-0 to advance to the semifinals.
