Bob MacIntyre automatically qualifies for European Ryder Cup team
Scotland's Robert MacIntyre will play in his first ever Ryder Cup.
Bob MacIntyre has automatically qualified for his first European Ryder Cup team this month after taking the final spot on the European Points List.
MacIntyre, 27, finished in a tie for 55th on 3-under par at the Omega European Masters, which was the first counting event for European Ryder Cup team qualification.
But with his nearest pursuers Yannick Paul and Adrian Meronk narrowly failing in their bids to finish third and second on the leaderboard, MacIntyre took the final automatic spot in the team.
MacIntyre will now play in his first Ryder Cup later this month at Marco Simone in Rome, a venue he won the Italian Open on in 2022.
The Scot is a two-time DP World Tour winner having also won in Cyprus back in 2020.
MacIntyre surged into the third spot on the European Points List thanks to finishing runner-up behind Rory McIlroy at the Scottish Open in July.
He then added a T4 at last week's Czech Masters to cement his place in the automatic standings.

MacIntyre now joins McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick as the six automatics in Luke Donald's 2023 European Ryder Cup team.
Donald will now make his six captain's picks on Monday.
It is believed Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood and Sepp Straka will make up for four of the six picks.
Many consider the last two picks will be fought out between three players: Adrian Meronk, Ludvig Aberg and Nicolai Hojgaard.
