Edge and Elmo Skintight

My mother has always been telling me to wrap up warm before I head out onto the golf course. She’s never quite understood that three or four layers of clothes can be rather restricting on the downswing.

But to my delight, and not necessarily Mother Roberts, I was able to play golf in early March with just two layers on – all thanks to the Galvin Green Skintight Base Layer.

Cons

My mother has always been telling me to wrap up warm before I head out onto the golf course. She’s never quite understood that three or four layers of clothes can be rather restricting on the downswing.

But to my delight, and not necessarily Mother Roberts, I was able to play golf in early March with just two layers on – all thanks to the Galvin Green Skintight Base Layer.

For some reason, I’ve always felt the cold like my grandad does. But as I looked across the driving range before teeing off on Sunday, I noticed I was the only one wearing a base layer and golf shirt, while everyone else had obviously taken the advice of their elders.

While the thought momentarily crossed my mind that I should head back to my wardrobe, I realised there was no need because I was feeling warm, fresh and ready for action.

It showed as I went on to shoot 3-over in the blustery, cold conditions at Hersham GC in Surrey - the first venue when Golfmagic takes on the Four Course Classic on May 4 in aid of  the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign

Featuring Galvin Green Compression-10 technology, the company says its Skintight Base Layer is designed to boost on-course performance levels in temperatures less than 10-degrees.

I can certainly vouch for those sentiments, given I was free to swing through the ball and pose to the cameras, rather than taking a half-hearted backswing in synchronisation with that horrible rustling noise from my heavy, waterproof jacket.

The firm fit of the Galvin Green base layer not only boosts blood flow and oxygen levels in the muscles, but improves stamina and flexibility while the breathable fabric helps keep the body cool and dry.

Galvin Green’s Edge long sleeve, in sizes XS-XXL, features multi-layer technology on the upper back for increased compression and warmth of upper back muscles and mesh fabric for extra ventilation and breathability.

And to make sure every part of your body is ready to face the cold, despite making you look like an Olympic swimmer, the Elmo leggings inspire yet more mesh fabric with reduced compression for increased moving comfort.

Key features of Galvin Green’s Body Mapping Technology:

  • Compression Technology to increase blood flow and oxygen levels in the muscles.
  • Body Mapping Technology targeting essential areas of the body to increase performance and comfort.
  • Thermo regulation for optimum comfort. Maximum breathability that enables the release of excess heat and moisture.
  • Perfect fit with flex points for maximum freedom of movement.
  • Anti-bacterial technology keeps the garments fresh.
  • Easy to wash and maintain, just regular machine wash.

VERDICT

Galvin Green’s Body Mapping Technology really does take comfort and performance to a completely new level. If you want to keep those muscles warm and feel energised for the full 18 holes, then you won’t go far wrong with the Edge and Elmo
