RBZ Stage 2

The bold graphics and striking white colour of the TaylorMade RocketBallz Stage 2 definitely makes this driver stand out.

Those who are accustomed to white clubs will like the look of this effort from TaylorMade and the triangular graphic pointing towards the face gave me confidence as I lined up the club.

The R1 is more popular on tour than the RBZ Stage 2 but the performance of the RBZ Stage 2 is right up there with the best of them. The head is slightly larger than the R1 and I found this increased my confidence.

The RBZ Stage 2 goes long and it also gave us low spin rates. It was also forgiving with off-centre hits still travelling a good distance.

I was able to work the ball reasonably well, in particular right-to-left, but if you struggle to manipulate shots you could always take advantage of the three-degree adjustable loft sleeve which will change ball flight, ball-spin and distance.

Verdict

A world-class driver that challenges the best on the market, including the TaylorMade R1. Long, forgiving and easy to work.
