e6

Bridgestone e6 is the softest multilayer golf ball on the market, designed to reduce spin for straighter distance.

The new larger Dual Dimple pattern provides reduced drag for higher speeds and increased lift, while the softer Surlyn cover and low compression core make for the softest e6 yet.

When placing ball in hand, the Dual-Dimple pattern surfacing becomes very noticeable. It's a little different but you'll quickly get over it.

The printing and paint of this classy Bridgestone ball looks top-notch. The e6 logo on the side is eye-catching but doesn't aid the best alignment.

Billed as the softest ball on the market, it is just as they say – incredibly soft. You hardly feel like you’re hitting the ball with driver or wedge. I did struggle to gauge distance on the greens, though.

Spin rate was high and straight off the driver, as was to be expected due to the soft cover, but it was about average when hit with a wedge, which was surprising.

The softness of this ball also meant I didn’t get too much distance out of it. While the ball’s surlyn cover doesn't spin as much around the greens, it is 3% softer than the cover on the 2011 model, which gives it a little more check around the greens

Verdict

Soft, soft, soft. If you're after a cushioned feeling golf ball, you will love this value-for-money e6. If you want something firmer, look elsewhere
