Jon Rahm has the chance to create even more history this weekend on the PGA Tour.
Jon Rahm has the opportunity to match or better the season money record set by Scottie Scheffler this weekend at the Mexico Open.
It will come as absolutely no surprise to you that 28-year-old Rahm has earned a simply obscene amount of money in 2023.
He's won four times. Two of those victories (the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii and The American Express) came back-to-back at the start of the year.
Before he took down the 87th Masters, he also clinched his 10th PGA Tour victory at the Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods.
It had designated status and therefore Rahm scooped a bumper pay cheque for a whopping $3.6m.
All in all, Rahm has amassed a mind-boggling $13,623,540 in official money in 2023.
That means he is $423,370 from matching the mark set by Scheffler in his breakout 2022 season, where the American pocketed $14.05m.

Rahm is obviously the hot favourite to clinch the Mexico Open at the Greg Norman-designed Vidanta, but he's also the defending champion.
He refused to open up on his post-Masters celebrations when he spoke to the media earlier in the week but hinted they were what you would imagine them to be.
