Pro MIRACULOUSLY makes cut despite recording a 10 at PGA Tour Canada event

A tour pro playing in this week's PGA Tour Canada event miraculously made the cut despite carding a 10 during Friday's second round.

This week, the Canadian-based tour is in Strathcona County, Alberta for the ATB Classic, being played over the Canada Day long weekend.

After 36 holes at Northern Bear Golf Course, Americans Nicolo Galletti, Davis Lamb, and Eric Lilleboe lead at 12-under par.

Eight-strokes back of the leaders is fellow American, Austen Christiansen, who shot back-to-back rounds of 70 to narrowly make the cut on the number.

But for most of his round on Friday, making it into the weekend didn't seem possible.

After a first-round 2-under 70, the 26-year-old was seven strokes back of 18-hole leader Carr Vernon, who had shot the lowest round on the PGA Tour Canada this season with a 9-under 63.

On Friday, however, Christiansen's hopes of a made-cut seemed slim when the Texan-born golfer made a 10 on the par-5 6th hole of the course, located just outside of Edmonton.

The quintuple bogey put Christiansen 4-over on his round, and 2-over for the tournament, which was far outside the eventual 4-under cut line.

Miraculously, however, the former Brigham Young University golfer went on a back-nine birdie tear to salvage his round.

After an immediate bounce-back birdie on the par-4 7th, Christiansen then made another at the par-5 10th. Quickly, he'd pulled his round back down to just 2-over par.

The real tear began when he arrived at the par-3 13th, which kick-started a stretch of four straight birdies.

Christiansen ultimately carded a second 2-under 70 and made the cut exactly on the number at 4-under par.

Here's Christiansen's reaction after that roller-coaster round:
