Jordan Spieth made to sweat as Top 30 CONFIRMED for FedEx Cup finale
Jordan Spieth narrowly makes it through to the 30-man Tour Championship at East Lake.
Jordan Spieth narrowly sneaked in to the PGA Tour's season-ending Tour Championship despite a sloppy finish to his final round at the BMW Championship.
Spieth bogeyed the final two holes for a lacklustre final-round 71 and it saw him finish at 1-over par and outside the top 30 in the tournament.
But thankfully for Spieth it did not cost him a place in the FedEx Cup finale at East Lake next week.
Spieth slipped back two places to 29th position in the FedEx Cup standings.
The winner of the 30-man Tour Championship will etch their name on the coveted FedEx Cup and they will receive a huge $18m first-prize bonus.
Justin Rose, Cameron Young and Hideki Matsuyama were three of the biggest names to fall out of the FedEx Cup race after the BMW Championship.
BMW Championship winner Viktor Hovland vaults from seventh to second in the FedEx Cup.
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler moves from second to first following his tie for second at the BMW Championship.
Rory McIlroy remains in third and Jon Rahm slips from first to fourth after his disappointing T31 at Olympia Fields.
