Jon Rahm fires F-bomb at reporter as he endures worst week since Scottish Open
Jon Rahm looked all set for another victory at Bay Hill, then the wheels rapidly came off.
Jon Rahm fired an F-bomb during an interview en route to enduring a wretched last three days at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
Rahm appeared all set for a sixth win in his last 10 starts around the world when racing out the blocks with a blistering 7-under 65.
But then the wheels quickly came off for the PGA Tour superstar with consecutive rounds of 76 followed by a closing 72.
It all added up to a 1-over par total, 10 shots behind debut winner Kurt Kitayama in a tie for 39th.
That is Rahm's worst performance since he finished tied 55th at the Genesis Scottish Open 15 starts ago last July.
After his second-round 76 which sent him back into the pack, Rahm fired an expletive down the mic when quizzed about his performance by a reporter.
At least he did sort of apologise for what was coming in his answer.
Rahm said:
Despite his rapid fall down the leaderboard after the opening round, Rahm remains narrowly out in front as World No.1 for a third consecutive week and 46th week overall.
He also picked up $70k for his efforts.
Scottie Scheffler has cut the points deficit to 0.3 following his tie for fourth at Bay Hill, while Rory McIlroy is just 0.5 off Rahm after his tie for second.
Both Scheffler and McIlroy can replace Rahm as World No.1 at this week's flagship Players Championship at famed TPC Sawgrass.
