Bubba Watson BURNS Patrick Reed at the first tee before their WGC match
Bubba Watson roasted Patrick Reed before their match finished all square at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.
Bubba Watson wasted no time in roasting Patrick Reed before their match at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, after it was revealed what Watson said to the controversial PGA Tour star on the very first tee.
It looked as though Watson was going to get one over on Reed in their opening match at Austin Country Club, but Reed won back-to-back holes at 17 and 18 to share the spoils with half a point each.
Watson's comments at the first hole might have worked against him and possibly caused Reed to dig a little deeper to make sure he didn't lose their match, although it was Watson who eventually made it to the knockout rounds, but lost to Brian Harman in the round of 16.
Following their match on Wednesday, Golf Digest writer Daniel Rapaport revealed what Watson had said before they teed off.
"On the first tee Patrick Reed asked me if we're still going to be friends after this. I was like - are we friends?"

Whether Watson was just messing around with Reed or if he was actually trying to burn him we don't know, as Reed isn't exactly known for having a lot of close relationships on the PGA Tour, while Watson does like to make a joke or two.
"Bubba needs his own PGA Tour Live channel, the man just makes for great television. Bubba tracers plus a boom mic = gold," said one golf fan in response to the tweet.
