3M Open prize purse, winner's share: How much they are playing for

Major season is over and week 29 of the PGA Tour schedule sees the 3M Open taking place at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.

There is a total prize purse of $7.5million, meaning that the winner will take home $1,350,000. 

The defending champion here is the American Cameron Champ. 

At the time, 26-year-old Champ captured his third PGA Tour victory that was highlighted by a bogey free final round to reach 15-under par. 

Now LIV Golf players Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel tied for second, along with Jhonattan Vegas. 

It was a particularly frantic day for Champ as he had to fend off dehydration and diziness in 90-degree heat to claim the win. 

Understandably,  the field is not at its strongest after the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews. 

The highest ranked players down to play are Hideki Matsuyama, who has been linked with LIV Golf and the impressive youngster Davis Riley, 

Former World No.1 Jason Day is also in the field.
