Padraig Harrington responds after being distracted by LIV Golf's Talor Gooch
Padraig Harrington takes to Twitter to reveal what happened with Talor Gooch in the first round of The Open.
Padraig Harrington has quashed all talk of a rift with LIV Golf's Talor Gooch despite his "watch your feet" comment in the first round of The Open.
According to the Irish Independent, Harrington is said to have been "distracted" by Gooch who was "shuffling his feet" as the Irishman teed off down the par-5 5th.
Harrington sprayed his tee shot into the gorse and then reportedly told Gooch "watch your feet" as they trudged off the tee.
The Irish Independent wrote the following on Thursday:
Despite his comment to Gooch on the 5th hole, Harrington has since taken to Twitter to say there is "nothing to see here".
There’s nothing to see here. Unfortunately for me I tilt my head up in my takeaway which gives me a rather wide field of vision. I got distracted by an early walk, which Taylor was very apologetic about and it never happened again.

Harrington tweeted:
Harrington and Gooch both carded rounds of 3-over 74 in the first round as they both face an uphill battle to make the cut.
